Sinking into the curtains, flowing in a gentle breeze.<\/p>\n
Becoming the patterns on the sheets.<\/p>\n
Mingling with the dust behind the machinery.<\/p>\n
Countless times standing before my family as their eyes are gently closed.<\/p>\n
One delicate motion, the softest caress of the priest\u2019s hand down a peaceful face.<\/p>\n
There, now it looks like they\u2019re sleeping, I would think.<\/p>\n
Our quiet hearts ache.<\/p>\n
Open-casket funerals and tears cascading down the faces of<\/p>\n
familiarity.<\/p>\n
But I can only cry alone, curled up in the corner of my closet,<\/p>\n
hugging my knees to my hurting chest.<\/p>\n
The throbs of my heart beating against my short, catching lungs as I<\/p>\n
cry as silently as possible.<\/p>\n
Who am I to cry?<\/p>\n
Who am I, so young of life, feel deserving to pour out like this<\/p>\n
