old dreams, new growth
While we were away on a business trip, Versu’s mama planted the vegetable seeds she gave me for Christmas. The past year has been such a whirlwind with work, and I feel like I haven’t had time to breathe (I have! but it really feels like I haven’t after this most recent trip).

I took some quick shots of the sprouts this morning, but didn’t know which was which yet. I need to get some wood markers and write them down so I don’t forget!

Our apple tree is also doing well. I was so worried last year when it fell during our big storm, but thankfully the roots were not affected, and it produced a lot of apples this season!
They’re small and a little tart, hehe. The wild bunnies around our neighborhood seem to enjoy them every year.

I’m going to be trimming the branches again and focus on a few apples per bunch for next year. I’d like to protect them better, so I’ll be doing some more research on how to take care of apple trees.

Today we were taking Emmanuel to the U-District via lightrail, but the parking at the transit center was full… so we ended up driving down.

We stopped by a place I’ve never been to for lunch. Emmanuel got his sushi, which he was really happy about.

I got chicken katsu curry!

Versu got chicken katsudon! Yummm!
We stopped by Meesum Bakery (they have a store in the U-District now!), Pink Gorilla, and Uwajimaya before making our way back home.

I finally got to show Emmanuel the bubble waffle from Happy Lemon! We all tore them up lol!

All in all it was a really nice day today. I’d been wanting to give both Versu and Emmanuel a little tour of downtown for awhile and I’m glad we were finally able to go.
